Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Television actress Dipika Kakar has been diagnosed with a tumour in the left lobe of her liver. The tumour is reportedly about the size of a tennis ball. This health issue forced her to voluntarily exit the first season of Celebrity MasterChef India, marking a sudden pause in her recent television comeback after a five-year break.
Dipika initially experienced stomach pain, which was thought to be acidity. After consulting a family doctor and undergoing blood tests, she was prescribed antibiotics. Despite initial improvement, the pain returned, leading to further medical examination. A CT scan revealed the presence of the tumour in her liver.
Initial reports from medical tests suggest that the tumour is benign. However, additional tests are pending to determine the exact nature of the tumour and to decide the appropriate treatment plan. Doctors have advised Dipika to be admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai for further evaluation and surgical treatment.
Shoaib Ibrahim, Dipika’s husband, shared that the tumour needs to be surgically removed. He also expressed concern for their two-year-old son Ruhaan, who is breastfeeding and has not been separated from his mother for long periods since birth. The family is currently focused on her treatment and recovery.
Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim married in February 2018 and welcomed their son Ruhaan in 2023. The couple had recently faced public scrutiny over social media posts related to a terror attack incident, which they addressed publicly. Currently, their focus remains on Dipika’s health and upcoming surgery.
